Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork
Ingredients:
- 1 (5-lb) bone-in pork shoulder roast
- 1 Tb salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tb brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tb hot pepper sauce
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Directions:
- Place pork shoulder in slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper. Pour vinegar around the pork. Cook on low for 12 hours.
- Remove pork. Discard bones. Strain off liquid, reserving 2 cups. Shred pork with forks, then return to cooker.
- Combine reserved liquid, brown sugar, hot pepper sauce, cayenne, and red pepper flakes. Add to cooker and mix.
- Serve on buns. Top with coleslaw.
