Cincinnati Chili
Ingredients:
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 qt. water
- 2 onions
- 1 15-oz. can tomato sauce
- 2 Tb vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 square unsweetened chocolate
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cayenne
- 5 cloves (3/4 tsp ground)
- 5 allspice berries (1 tsp ground)
- 1 bay leaf
Directions:
- Cover beef with cold water. Bring to a boil, breaking up the meat. Boil 30 min.
- Add remaining ingredients & spices. Simmer 3 (!) hours .
- “2-way:” Serve over spaghetti.
- “3-way:” Serve over spaghetti, topped with shredded cheddar.
- “4-way:” Serve over spaghetti, topped with shredded cheddar and diced onions.
- “5-way:” Serve over spaghetti, topped with shredded cheddar, diced onions, and kidney beans.
