 Later, she goes downstairs to find the slave murdered.  There's a bit about the master's club foot that seems like it should be terribly important, but is quite boring.  The master chucks his mother over a railing, then makes his bride-to-be put on a pretty dress.  Then he reveals himself to be the crazy
