Heat 1 Tb of oil, fry hot dog slices until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
Add 1 Tb oil, add garlic and cook 30 sec. Add onion and cook until soft.
Add ground beef, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Brown thoroughly.
Add tomato paste and cook 1 min, stirring frequently. Add hot dogs, tomato sauce, water, ketchup, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Simmer 10 min.
Cook spaghetti until al dente (1 min less than box instructions). Reserve 1/2 to 1 cup of the cooking water and add it to the sauce. Combine sauce and noodles. Serve with shredded cheese on top.
